The third and fourth days were much the same. A lot of walking but not a lot of birds. The group was disappointed with the number of birds and said there were usually more. It depends on the year and the conditions, as we all know. Other than that I learned a lot about the behavior of Bracchi on wild birds. Mostly I learned that I still can't hit a bird if my life depended on it. By the 4th day they were teasing me relentlessly and saying, "Don't be an American shooter." The guys were so fast, they usually hit the bird before I could even aim the gun. I failed miserably to represent our country and our hunting heritage but I was really there to see the dogs.
