| I love Rome and could spend 2 or more weeks there and not be bored. We spent our last night sitting in the Piazza Navona for 4 hours watching the crowds go by. It was too hot to keep going. For some reason the Italians do not believe in good air conditioning or ice. So, we just had a lot of gelato and tried to keep cool by shopping in as many shops as we could find. After all, the Italians are known for great shoes and if you don’t buy shoes when you are in Italy, you are just not experiencing Italy! I want to thank Dick and Jacki for putting up with me and doing all the driving. They were really great travel companions and I look forward to future trips. I think an annual trip is in order for the club. If you want to go next year, let’s plan it together – I am always willing to go! |
